Fabrizio Romano drops update on Chelsea's interest in Rodrygo

Chelsea are not exploring a move for Real Madrid winger Rodrygo ahead of the New Year, according to reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Brazil international was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League last summer. Arsenal were initially mentioned as suitors, while Manchester City were also linked towards the transfer deadline.
Neither club made an offer for the Real Madrid man. The speculation has not ceased and reports have recently claimed that the Blues could make a big-money move to land the versatile attacker from Los Blancos.
Romano has now revealed that the Blues are not in negotiations for Rodrygo. There has been no contact with Rodrygo's camp and there is nothing ongoing between the Blues and the player's entourage.
He said: "At the moment, what I’m getting as an answer from Chelsea sources is very clear.
"With maximum respect for Rodrygo, Chelsea are not in negotiations for Rodrygo.
"Chelsea are not in talks with Rodrygo’s camp or with Real Madrid.
And there is zero ongoing between Chelsea and Rodrygo."
The Blues will return to Premier League action after the international break against Burnley on the road. They are presently six points behind league leaders Arsenal after 11 matches into the ongoing campaign.
