Chelsea want to sign James McAtee in January?

McAtee to Chelsea?

Chelsea are reportedly exploring the prospect of signing Nottingham Forest playmaker James McAtee during the winter transfer window.

The Blues have had a poor December in the Premier League and they are presently languishing fifth in the table, three points behind the top four.

The club need to add more quality in the final third this winter and Teamtalk claim that McAtee could be an option for the west London outfit.

The 23-year-old has endured a difficult year with Forest in the Premier League and he has managed less than 150 minutes of game time.

He has been a regular unused substitute in recent months and could contemplate a new challenge away from the Tricky Trees soon.

The Blues are keeping a close eye on the situation and could make a proposal to prise him away from Sean Dyche's side next month.

Forest purchased him from Manchester City for around £30 million and they could be tempted to sanction his sale for a similar figure.
