Chelsea enter race for Ricardo Pepi

Ricardo Pepi wanted by Fulham and Chelsea

Chelsea have joined West London rivals Fulham in the transfer race to sign PSV Eindhoven striker Ricardo Pepi. The talented USA Mens National Team international joined PSV in 2023 from German outfit Augsburg, and has quickly caught the eye in his homeland having already represented the national team 34 times, scoring 13 goals, making his debut as an 18-year-old.

Fulham reportedly had an initial offer of 30 million euros rejected by Eredivisie side PSV, and Chelsea have now been made aware of the striker's availability and will usurp the Cottagers' offer with a reported 35 million euro bid.

Pepi came through the ranks at American side FC dallas, before making the leap with a transfer to Bundesliga side Augsburg. Sandwiched between his departure from that side to PSV, Pepi moved to Groningen in the Dutch top flight, and bagged an impressive 12 goals in 29 games.

Fulham have been in good form of late, defeating West Ham 1-0 last weekend, but manager Marco Silva wants to add attacking reinforcements to his squad after Rodrigo Muniz and Raul Jimenez have only managed four Premier League goals between them.

Chelsea, on the other hand, have a deep squad but want to bring in another attacker in the January transfer window, and have set their sights on Pepi as their top target.
