Tottenham sign Conor Gallagher from Atletico

Tottenham Hotspur have secured the signature of Atletico Madrid midfielder Conor Gallagher on a permanent basis.
The north London giants were initially keen on landing the Englishman from Chelsea in 2024, but the Blues preferred to sell him abroad.
Gallagher had a good debut season with the La Liga giants, but fell out-of-favour under manager Diego Simeone in the current campaign.
He has now chosen to return to the Premier League with Spurs, who have presently languishing 14th in the table with just 27 points thus far.
Despite their lowly position, they are only eight points behind fourth-placed Liverpool and six behind Brentford, who are occupying the fifth position.
Champions League football is well within their reach, and a strong winning streak could boost their prospects of qualifying for the competition.
Spurs can also secure a berth by winning the competition, but that is a tall order for the London outfit, given the vast quality of their rivals.
