Arsenal want to sign Atletico star Julian Alvarez

Arsenal are keen on landing the signature of Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez at the end of the campaign, according to ESPN.

The Gunners bolstered their strikeforce last summer with the acquisition of Viktor Gyokeres, but he has yet to find his feet in the Premier League.

The Swede has netted nine goals in all competitions for the Gunners, but only five of those have come in the league - two from the penalty spot.

Gabriel Jesus has fared decently on his injury comeback, but Kai Havertz has yet to play a prominent role amid concerns over his knee condition.

Amidst this, it appears Arsenal want to bring in a marquee centre-forward and have made initial contact with Alvarez's agent over a summer deal.

Atletico are not contemplating the attacker's exit. If they were to consider his summer sale, it could take more than €100 million, as per ESPN.

Alvarez has netted 40 goals and provided 11 assists for Diego Simeone's side since his move from Manchester City in the summer of 2024.
