Bournemouth closing in on deal for Mandas

Bournemouth are to make their first major signing of the transfer window in the acquisition of Lazio goalkeeper Christos Mandas. The Greek international shot stopper has been with Lazio since making a transfer from OFI in 2023, and is set to do battle with Djordje Petrovic for the Cherries' number 1 jersey.
Bournemouth defeated Liverpool 3-2 last night in the Premier League and Andoni Iraola insisted that transfers will be on the way before the close of the window at the end of January.
In Mandas, they are signing a 24-year-old goalkeeper that is seen as one of Europe's brightest prospects in goal. He has also been monitored by German giants Borussia Dortmund.
Mandas already has two caps to his name for Greece and has been in excellent form when called upon at Lazio, and it is understood that at first a loan deal will be agreed until the end of the season for a fee of around 3 million euros. Should the keeper impress Andoni Iraola, a deal to sign Mandas on a permanent basis can be completed for £21 million.
