Chelsea planning move for new striker

Chelsea are planning to pursue a new striker when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

The west London giants have heavily relied on Joao Pedro upfront this campaign, and have lacked quality competition behind the Brazil international.

Liam Delap has failed to meet expectations since his switch from Ipswich Town last summer. Marc Guiu has been a fringe player in his two seasons at the London side.

Delap could be offloaded this summer amid interest from Newcastle United and Everton. Amidst this, it is claimed that the Blues are lining up a move for a new marksman.

Bayer Leverkusen sensation Christian Kofane is on their radar, but the club are also assessing other options ahead of the summer transfer window.

If Chelsea are keen on Kofane, they may have to secure an agreement before the World Cup or his price could soar high if he impresses for Cameroon at the global tournament.

Arsenal and Barcelona are also firm admirers of the 19-year-old.
