Chelsea want to sign €26m Barcelona midfielder

Chelsea are planning a move for Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado during the summer transfer window, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.

The Blues are preparing for another busy summer ahead, and a new defensive midfielder could be one of the priorities with possible departures.

It is now claimed that the club are weighing up a move for Casado, who has struggled for playing time at the Blaugrana this campaign.

The Spaniard is a quality holding midfielder, but finds himself behind Pedri, Eric Garcia, Gavi among others in the pecking order.

His playing time is unlikely to improve next season and Barcelona could be prepared to sell him for as low as €26m during the summer.

Chelsea could be prepared to secure a bargain deal for Casado.

They are open to parting ways with Enzo Fernandez for a premium fee, while Romeo Lavia could likewise depart amid his injury woes.
