Arsenal already in talks with Julian Alvarez's agents

Arsenal are already in negotiations with the representatives of Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez over a summer transfer window, according to Media Foot.

The Gunners are in the market for another marquee striker with Gabriel Jesus expected to be sold this summer. Alvarez is the top target for manager Mikel Arteta.

It is now claimed that Arsenal have initiated contact with his agents and want to agree personal terms with the World Cup winner before lodging an offer for him.

Atletico are not exploring a sale at the end of the campaign, but it is reported that the 26-year-old has his sights on a bigger challenge away from the Madrid giants.

Barcelona are also firm admirers of the ex-Manchester City man, but they are unlikely to have the funds to compete financially with the Gunners for the marksman.

It could cost at least 100 million pounds to persuade Atletico to part ways with their prized asset. Arsenal are preparing for the process by contacting his entourage.
