Liverpool make Bournemouth youngster Rayan top summer target

Rayan on his way to Liverpool?

Liverpool are lining up an ambitious summer move for Bournemouth’s rising Brazilian star Rayan, with the 19 year old forward emerging as one of the most exciting young attackers in European football. With a reported £58.5 million price now being discussed internally, the Merseyside club are preparing for a significant attacking reshuffle as they plan for life beyond Mohamed Salah.

Rayan, who primarily operates as a right sided forward but is equally comfortable through the middle, has made a rapid impact since arriving in the Premier League. After joining Bournemouth in January 2026, he has already registered 7 league appearances, scoring 2 goals and providing 1 assist in his opening months in England.

His explosive start included becoming one of the few teenagers in Premier League history to deliver a goal or assist in each of his first three appearances, underlining his ability to adapt quickly to elite level football.

Before his move to England, Rayan built his reputation at CR Vasco da Gama, where he progressed from academy standout to first team regular at a remarkably young age. During his breakthrough 2025 season, he scored 14 goals in 34 league appearances, earning widespread recognition as one of Brazil’s brightest attacking prospects.

Across his senior spell at the club, he accumulated around 25 goals in close to 100 appearances, while also picking up individual honours including a best newcomer award.

It is this blend of raw output and long term upside that has caught Liverpool’s attention. With Salah now into the later stages of his peak years, the club are actively identifying a successor capable of stretching defences, attacking space and contributing goals from wide areas. Rayan’s direct running, powerful left foot and ability to play across the front line align closely with the tactical demands Liverpool place on their wide forwards.

There is also a stylistic fit. Under their current system, Liverpool rely heavily on high tempo transitions and aggressive pressing from the front. Rayan’s athletic profile and willingness to attack defenders one on one make him an ideal candidate to develop into that role over time. Crucially, his ceiling is viewed as extremely high, which explains why multiple European heavyweights are also tracking him closely.

However, completing a deal will not be straightforward. Bournemouth inserted a significant release clause into his contract, reportedly in the region of £86 million, giving them strong negotiating leverage.

That said, Liverpool believe a structured deal closer to £58.5 million could be enough to open discussions, particularly if the player signals a desire to move.

Any transfer is most likely to take shape late in the summer window, once Liverpool finalise their attacking plans and Bournemouth assess their own squad strategy. If negotiations accelerate, a deal could be completed before the start of the new season, positioning Rayan as one of the headline arrivals of the window.
