Chelsea lining up move for Elche centre-back

Chelsea are reportedly one of the clubs interested in landing Elche centre-back David Affengruber at the end of the season.

The 25-year-old has been a revelation for the La Liga outfit and has played a big part in their quest to avoid top-flight relegation.

However, he is expected to move on in the summer, considering his current deal expires at the end of the 2026/27 campaign.

Elche value their prized asset at around 30 million euros and believe they can secure the amount, given his vast progress in the last 12 months.

Affengruber has also been picked in Austria's World Cup squad and a strong showing in North America could further enhance his reputation.

Chelsea are not alone in the pursuit of the 25-year-old with Manchester United and Juventus also weighing up offers for the talented ace.

Affengruber could prefer to join a Champions League club which should hand the advantage to the Red Devils over the Blues and Bianconeri.
