Man Utd close to signing Newcastle United star

Manchester United are close to finalising the transfer of Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali this summer, as per Tuttomercatoweb.

The Red Devils are expected to strengthen their midfield department ahead of next season. Casemiro will depart on a free transfer this summer and this will leave a huge void to fill.

Manuel Ugarte has also been told to find a new club in the next transfer window. Hence, a couple of midfielders could be signed and one of those could be Tonali, as per reports.

United manager Michael Carrick considers him a top target, and it is claimed that the club are close to reaching an agreement with the Magpies to purchase the ex-AC Milan man.

Tonali was signed by the Magpies from AC Milan for around 55 million pounds and it could take around 86 million pounds to prise him away at the end of the current campaign.

Juventus are also firm admirers of the talented midfielder, but they don't have the finances to compete with United for the 26-year-old.
