Barcelona set to sign another Arsenal target?

Barcelona have stepped up their pursuit of Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, who has also been linked with Arsenal in recent months.

The Argentine had another fine season with Atletico, contributing 20 goals and nine assists. He is now eyeing a bigger challenge and has told the La Liga outfit that he won't be renewing his contract further.

Atletico have hence opened the door for his departure and reports claim that Barcelona are the player's preferred destination. The Blaugrana are also eager to land his signature and will make an opening bid worth €120m.

The Catalan giants may have to pay much higher for the former Manchester City man but they seem confident of striking an agreement with Diego Simeone's before the player reports for the World Cup this summer.

Arsenal have also been touted to sign the 26-year-old for some period of time, but may have to look elsewhere to bolster their strike force. They have also seen Anthony Gordon choose the Blaugrana recently.
