Aston Villa ready to make move for Man Utd winger

Aston Villa could make a renewed approach for Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford, with Barcelona reluctant to pay the buy clause on his loan contract.

The Englishman signed for the La Liga giants on loan last summer with an option to buy for 22.5 million pounds. However, Barcelona have no plans of triggering the clause and want to pay only 11.3 million pounds upfront.

Amidst this, the Villans have rejoined the pursuit of Rashford, who previously spent five months on loan with them during the 2024/25 campaign.

Rashford was not signed permanently for 40 million pounds back then as he was reluctant to accept a sizeable pay cut on his wages to rejoin them.

However, the scenario could be different this summer if United refuse to negotiate and accept a knockdown price for his transfer to Barcelona.

Villa could be prepared to pay a much higher fee for the 28-year-old and could meet his wages too, having qualified for the Champions League.
