Man Utd confident of signing Portuguese star before Spurs

Manchester remain confident of signing West Ham United midfielder Mateus Fernandes ahead of Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
The Red Devils have already secured an agreement to land Atalanta midfielder Ederson and are aiming for another marquee signing.
Fernandes has been earmarked as the next target. Spurs and United are vying for the same player, but United are confident of sealing a deal.
West Ham currently want 80 million pounds for the Portuguese - a figure which neither of those clubs is prepared to pay at the moment.
There is optimism that the Hammers will eventually lower their demands. In that case, United are confident that Fernandes will choose them.
Spurs have assured a better financial package to the 21-year-old, but United are his dream club and he is likely to prioritise them over anyone else.
Arsenal have also been linked with the talented midfielder, but they have pulled out of the race recently due to the high transfer valuation.
