Inter Milan on the verge of signing Chelsea star

Inter Milan are on the verge of securing an agreement to sign Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah this summer.

The England international has been deemed surplus to requirements by the Blues, and he is expected to leave in the coming weeks.

The centre-back prefers a move to the Italian top-flight. Como have already held talks, but Inter are leading the pursuit of his services.

Chalobah's agents have travelled to Milan to meet Inter's hierarchy, and there is optimism that an agreement will be reached in the near future.

Inter are prepared to pay around £25 million for the Blues graduate, much more than Como have been willing to offer for the player (£20m).

Chalobah has also been on the radar of multiple mid-table Premier League clubs, but he is eager to play in the Champions League again.

Como were a tempting prospect for the defender, but their reluctance to raise their bid means Inter could be his next destination soon.
