Chelsea defender moves to Napoli on loan

Chelsea defender Benoit Badiashile will make the switch to Napoli on loan with an option to buy.

The Frenchman has been a squad player for the Blues over the past year, and he has now chosen a new challenge.

Napoli were initially keen on landing him on loan with a buy clause of around £16 million.

However, the London giants refused the proposal and have now agreed to a much higher package.

Napoli will sign Badiashile for £2.5m on loan with an option to buy for £23 million next summer.

The Serie A outfit have held a long-term interest in the 25-year-old and wanted him during his Monaco days.

They have eventually landed his signature and are widely expected to trigger the buy clause next summer.

Napoli are not done yet in the transfer window, and they are determined to land a new centre-forward very soon.

Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus is the prime target for the Naples outfit.
