Man Utd agree fee to sign third midfielder this summer

Manchester United have reached an agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion to sign midfielder Carlos Baleba, according to The Athletic.

The Red Devils have already recruited Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos to strengthen the midfield this summer and are now poised to land another.

The Athletic claim that United have finally agreed on a package worth £65m plus £5m in add-ons for the Cameroon international.

He has been permitted to undergo his medical and his transfer could be formally announced by the Red Devils before the week ends.

Baleba had a tough 2025/26 season with the Seagulls and he was dropped to the substitutes' bench on many occasions after the New Year.

The transfer speculation hampered his performances and United believe he will come good for them on his return from an ankle injury.

Baleba is presently on the sidelines with the setback in pre-season and he could be out of action for another three weeks at the least.
