Man Utd set to open contract talks with star midfielder

Manchester United are prepared to open talks with captain Bruno Fernandes over a new long-term contract.
The Portuguese had a phenomenal 2025/26 season with the Red Devils, scoring nine goals and providing 21 assists in the Premier League.
He has continued the bright form this campaign and recently scored a hat-trick and provided an assist in the 5-2 thrashing of Ipswich Town.
Fernandes has already turned down multiple offers to move to the Saudi Pro League, and United are now expected to open contract talks with him.
The midfielder's current deal expires in June next year, but the Mancunian giants have the option to keep him for another 12 months as well.
He is currently one of the highest earners at the club at £300,000 per week, and his wages could possibly rise to £400,000 weekly with a renewal.
Fernandes was in no hurry to renew his contract earlier this summer, but things could speed up now that the transfer window is closing.
