Man Utd star to return from injury vs Brighton?

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw could make his injury comeback against Brighton & Hove Albion in the Carabao Cup third round tomorrow.

The England international has been sidelined with a minor fitness concern over the past few games. He was absent against Sabah and Manchester City, where Patrick Dorgu occupied the left-back position.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Carrick has now confirmed that Shaw is progressing well from his recent knock and could be involved when the Red Devils host Brighton in the League Cup.

United are already under immense pressure. They have picked up just four points from as many league matches, and the upcoming Cup tie against the Seagulls appears a must-win for manager Michael Carrick.

Otherwise, serious questions could arise about his future, particularly if United fail to beat Fulham in the Premier League at the weekend. Carrick is expected to name a strong starting XI against Brighton at Old Trafford and may not make several changes.
