Chelsea exploring move for Inter Milan star

Chelsea are exploring a possible move for Inter Milan centre-back Alessandro Bastoni, according to Teamtalk.

The Blues strengthened their central defensive department over the summer with the signing of Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace.

Manager Xabi Alonso is still aiming to add more quality to the squad and reports claim that Bastoni is another top name on the club's radar.

Bastoni was widely linked with a move to Barcelona earlier this year, but the Catalan giants did not make a formal approach for him.

The Italian ended up staying put with the Serie A champions, but this has not ruled out the prospect of him heading for the exit soon.

Chelsea are keeping a close eye on his situation and it is claimed that he could be prised away from the Nerazzurri for around £70 million.

Inter may not entertain a mid-season deal for their prized asset but there is a possibility that he could be permitted to leave next summer.
