Man Utd suffer fresh injury blow on international duty

Manchester United have suffered another injury blow with defender Noussair Mazraoui picking up a lower back issue against Lesotho on Morocco duty.

Mazraoui is presently with the Moroccan national side for the African Cup of Nations qualifiers. He scored a stellar goal against Gabon last week but his appearance against Lesotho ended early due to a lower back problem.

The Red Devils ace was visibly distraught in pain, and this is a huge concern for the Mancunian giants, given they are already short in the full-back department after the lack of spending over the summer.

Patrick Dorgu picked up a hamstring injury last week and Mazraoui's absence means United are very short in the left-back department. Luke Shaw is the regular starter but his injury record is a cause for concern too.

Manager Michael Carrick may be forced to play Ayden Heaven or Harry Amass from the left-back position when the season resumes if he wishes to reduced the workload on the injury-prone Shaw.
