Arsenal ready to make fresh move for Julian Alvarez

Arsenal are prepared to make a fresh move for Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez when the transfer window reopens this winter.

The Argentine was the Gunners' top striker target during the summer transfer window, but he was not convinced to make the switch.

Alvarez had set his sights on joining Barcelona from the off, and he did not change his stance despite Atletico being reluctant to negotiate with them.

Barcelona have since distanced themselves from the World Cup winner, and they seem unlikely to revive their interest due to the rivalry between the clubs.

This has handed a potential boost for the Gunners, and Teamtalk claim that the striker would be open to joining the London giants at the start of the year.

The big question remains whether Arsenal will make a move. A deal for Alvarez could mean they may need to find a fresh club for Viktor Gyokeres.

Gyokeres has been on Atletico's radar from his time at Sporting CP and there is a possibility that he could move to the Madrid outfit in a separate deal.
