Sidwell nears Aston Villa move

Steven Sidwell is on the verge of ending his Chelsea nightmare with a switch to Premiership rivals Chelsea this summer, in a move believed to be worth around £6 million to the Blues.

The former Arsenal man has always hidden his desire to leave the club, but told insiders that he was interested in other clubs if the opportunity became available.

It is understood that part of the deal means that Chelsea will pay a significant portion of his wages at Villa.
