Aston Villa chase Ferdinand

Aston Villa have reportedly made a formal offer for Anton Ferdinand. The West Ham defender has been linked with a move to Tottenham all summer, but looks set to plump for a switch to Villa.

It is understood that the Villains are preparing a £6 million offer for the central defender, regarded by money as one of the best young defenders in the Premiership.

Tottenham boss Juande Ramos recently hinted that he could make a move for Ferdinand, but now O'Neill will be making an offer for the player to try and poach him from under Tottenham's noses.
