Interest in Razvan Rat

Romanian defender Razvan Rat has a number of clubs ready to take the plunge and snap him up from Shakhtar Donetsk this summer. It is understood that Bologna, Sunderland and West Ham are all interested.

The player is very highly regarded in the Ukraine and has put in some sterling displays for Shakhtar.

Ioan Becali - the player's agent - said: "Last winter for Rat, Shakhtar Donetsk refused an offer of £4 million.

"They're a rich club and do not intend to sell him below the figure of £5 million.

"The player has attracted a lot of interest from England."
