Mutu won't join AS Roma

Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino has ruled out the possibility of Adrian Mutu leaving to join AS Roma; insisting that the player is set to sign a new deal and Mutu is happy at Fiorentina.

“The fact that we offered the player an extension to his deal shows that we have faith in him,” Corvino told Radio Radio TV.

“We have to see what happens and we have always said that we would try and accommodate an increase as best we could.

“Mutu also said that he wants to stay at Fiorentina and he will be with us on July 15 for the start of pre-season.

“Roma? I have a good relationship with them but they have never made a proposal for Mutu.

“I am sure that they would have called me if they were interested in the striker.”
