De La Red to the Premiership?

Real Madrid midfielder Ruben de la Red is said to be keenly sought by Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur this summer after the youngster impressed heavily last season at Getafe.

De la Red progressed through the youth academy at Real Madrid and was sent on loan to Getafe last season. He became a very vital pice in the Getafe jigsaw last season and was part of the triumphant Euro 2008 Spain squad in the summer.

De La red has been recalled to Real Madrid for the 2008-2009 season but it is not clear how much space he would have in Bernd Schuster’s plans. Marca reports that both Arsenal and Spurs are interested in signing the player.
