Porto chasing Maniche

FC Porto have stated their inclination to sign the out of favour Portuguese international midfielder Maniche from Atletico Madrid this summer.

Atletico signed Paulo Assuncao from Porto on a free transfer on a four-year contract. Assuncao still had two years left on his contract at Porto but he bought those remaining two years and therefore became a free agent.

Porto are now eyeing signing the former Chelsea and Inter Milan medio Maniche as his replacement. Maniche fell out with Atleti coach Javier Aguirre and was sent out on loan to Inter Milan for the second half of last season.
