De La Red back to Real Madrid

Ruben De La Red has returned to Real Madrid after only one year on loan at Getafe. It is understood that the midfielder spurned the opportunity to play in the Premiership.

Ruben has decided that returning to the Calderon will give him more opportunities in his quest to represent the Spanish international side regularly; after his winning Euro 2008 role in the Spain squad.

It was believed that both Tottenham and Arsenal were to make offers for the Spanish midfielder.
