Megson won't get the chop

Bolton chairman Phil Gartside has no intentions of letting Gary Megson leave the club. Megson has endured a difficult relationship with the Bolton fans, despite rescuing the club from the drop last year, and Bolton replied in the best manner with a 2-0 victory over Man City.

“Gary has the 100 percent support of the players, which the other manager (Sammy Lee) did not,” he told The Mail on Sunday.

“That is why things are not the same between now and then.

“Gary and I talk about transfer targets all the time. If you look back, there isn’t a transfer window in which we haven’t signed players.”
