Arsenal on Martins alert

Arsenal are reportedly on high alert after there were rumours that Obafemi Martins was set to ask for a transfer away from Newcastle in the January transfer window. The player is valued by the Toon in the region of £13 million.

There have been reports that the player is unhappy at Newcastle after he stormed off the field after being substituted.

It is believed that Tottenham are also interested in the frontman.

Martins has a buyout clause in his existing Newcastle United contract that means a club can match his £13 million release clause and he will be allowed to leave.
