Liverpool won't move for Owen
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has ruled out a January transfer window move for Newcastle striker Michael Owen. The forward was believed to be on Rafa's shortlist for a shock return to Anfield.
Benitez said after the disappointing 0-0 draw with West Ham at Anfield: "We will have Fernando Torres back soon, and I can assure everyone that clearly we are not going for Michael Owen. Clearly."
Owen's contract at Newcastle will expire in the summer, and it is understood that the club are ready to offload their star man prior to that.
