James Harper nears Boro move

Middlesbrough are reportedly edging ever closer to a move for Reading midfielder James Harper in the final moments of the January transfer window deadline. It is understood that the player could move to Boro for 3 million GBP.

The former Arsenal midfielder showed flashes of his abilities in the Premiership last year with Reading, but is reportedly eager to return to the top flight.

Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate is keen to bring in a new holding midfielder, and Harper has been suggested as the answer to the Boro coaches problem.
