Vermaelen to Arsenal?

There have been rumours circulating around several Premiership news sites that Arsenal could make a move for Ajax defender Thomas Vermaelen on transfer deadline day.

There are under 2 hours left of the transfer window remaining, but Gunners' boss Arsene Wenger is now stepping up his chase for reinforcements.

It is believed that Kolo Toure and William Gallas' partnership could well be broken up as Gunners boss Wenger has turned to the transfer market to find long term replacements.
