Modise Race Hots up
The future of two time South African Footballer of the year seems to be the subject of much debate right now, with the Premiership being his preferred destination.
As was exclusively reported by eyefootball.com a week ago, Premiership teams are all in the hunt for the attacking midfielder with Birmingham, Aston Villa and Wigan looking like the front runners.
Modise was the man of the match in his sides first Confederations Cup game and he has spoken very fondly about the EPL and his relationship with Evertonâs Steven Pienaar.
"I'm a fan of English football and I've got a friend who is playing there in Steven Pienaar at Everton. We talk a lot about it, and if the opportunity comes for me it would be very important.
"For two years now Steven has been telling me to move on from South Africa.
"But it's kind of difficult because I'm playing for a big team and the price tag as well - that was an issue. We'll see what happens but I think it's time to move on.
"It gives you that extra edge to work extra hard when you know there are people who are enquiring about you. I'm confident I have the quality to play in England.
"I can get a move I'll only become a better player."
A price tag of £3-4 million seems to be the most likely, a fee which would prove to be a snip if Modise can replicate the impact created by Pienaarâs arrival in English football.
