Nihat Kahveci signs for Besiktas

Villarreal have agreed a deal with Besiktas for Nihat Kahveci, and the striker now looks forward to returning to his homeland - and former club - as of July 1st. The deal is believed to be worth around £5 million.

A Villarreal statement read: "Villarreal want to thank the player for his professional dedication and commitment in the yellow colours, and also wish him a lot of luck in his new footballing career."

Kahveci was prolific in his time in Spain, helping Villarreal to Champions League qualification with a number of sterling performances.
