Everton make bid for Oleksandr Zinchenko

Zinchenko: leaving Arsenal before the end of the transfer window?

Everton have tabled an offer for Ukraine international Oleksandr Zinchenko as the Arsenal defender seeks a move for regular first-team football. Everton had deployed James Garner as a left-back in yesterday's defeat to Leeds United and are looking to add versatile players to their squad before the transfer window closes.

In Zinchenko, they will be able to sign a player comfortable in both midfielder and defence, and also a signing that is seeking regular first-team football in the Premier League after being informed by Arsenal that he can transfer elsewhere.

The only issue is Zinchenko's reported £175,000 per week salary at Arsenal, and the Gunners are ready to offload the Ukrainian for a cut-price £15 million and pay forward some of the player's salary to ease a potential departure.

Zinchenko has also expressed an interest in moving to Germany, with both Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen admirers of the player. It is understood that a loan deal is also a possibility, although The Gunners would prefer a permanent transfer fee if one was available.
