Coyle's success bad for Bolton?

When Owen Coyle took charge of Bolton Wanderers, he was a man who looked like he was about to take control of a side that would be forever embroiled in relegation battles, rather than a team capable of fighting for a European place.

However, Coyle now seems to have reshaped the club and Bolton are now able to say with an element of real conviction that they are in the hunt for a European place.

Although this success is clearly a great thing for the club as a whole at present, it could in fact end up leading to Coyle being poached by a rival, leaving them struggling once again to secure their Premier League survival. With the club already forced to admit that they are running low on funds and could even have to resort to selling their top players in order to remain financially secure, Coyle will realise he is simply unable to add anything more than the odd loan signing to his squad.

Should any one of the bigger clubs in the league with a more appealing budget come calling for Coyle, then it appears unlikely that he will be able to resist their overtures. However, in the short term, Bolton fans can hopefully sit back and enjoy the stunning level of football they are witnessing as their side becomes a force to be reckoned with in the Premier League.

If relative success in the Premier League does occur this season and brings with it a substantial wad of cash, then Bolton fans may well be able to have their cake and eat it.
