Ba signing confirmed by Besiktas
Demba Ba has completed his move from Chelsea to Turkish club Besiktas, both the club and Ba have confirmed.
Besiktas confirmed the move with a statement on their website while Ba posted the update on his official Twitter account.
He scored just 14 goals in 18 months at Stamford Bridge and after the arrival of Diego Costa from La Liga champions Atletico Madrid, his first team chances were significantly reduced.
Since moving to Stamford Bridge from Newcastle in January 2013, the Senegal international has scored 14 goals in 51 games for Premier League giants Chelsea. The 29-year-old striker fell behind Spaniard Fernando Torres and Cameroon international Samuel Eto'o and after the arrival of prolific striker Diego Costa, the Blues allowed him to look for a new club.
Eto'o has since left the club, while the future of Romelu Lukaku (who was loaned to Everton last season) continues to be speculated upon after two season-long loan deals.
The Belgium international, who scored one goal at the World Cup in Brazil against USA, is open to leaving Chelsea permanently.
