Newcastle to make bid for Andy Carroll?
Newcastle have been linked with a shock move for West Ham forward Andy Carroll. The striker could make a return to St James' Park after the Hammers wrapped up a deal for Enner Valencia.
Pending the successful application for a work permit for Ecuador international Valencia, the Hammers have admitted that they could sell their current first choice striker, with Andy Carroll linked with a move back to the club at which he started his career and spent six successful years.
Reports suggest that Newcastle coach Alan Pardew is tempted by a transfer for Carroll and will plot a £10 million move for the 25-year-old at some point in the first week of August.
Carroll has three years remaining on his deal at Upton Park.
