Liverpool join race for Arsenal target

Liverpool are reportedly set to join Arsenal in the race to secure the services of Atletico Madrid defender Javier Manquillo on a season-long loan.

The highly talented right-back currently plys his trade for the Spanish champions, and it is understood that manager Diego Simeone is willing to allow the 20-year-old move on loan for the next season.

According to Madrid-based publication AS, the Gunners had been considered front-runners to sign the talented right-back this summer, but the Reds have expressed their desire to seal a temporary switch for the young defender.

It is believed that any deal will not include a future purchase clause, with Atleti unwilling to lose the player on a permanent deal.
