Tottenham chasing Mateo Musacchio

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is to table a bid for Argentinian defender Mateo Musacchio. The Villarreal centre back is seen as a long term replacement for Michael Dawson.

The White Hart Lane club are yet to have made the central defensive transfer that many have been expecting this summer and that position could now be filled with an acquisition of centre back Musacchio. The 23-year-old has remained fiercely loyal to the Yellow Submarines since his arrival there in 2010 from River Plate. The 6 foot defender is now understood to be considering a move elsewhere though and Villarreal are reportedly willing to sell for 16 million euros.
