Sunderland boss delighted with Lee Cattermole stay
Sunderland manager Gus Poyet has revealed that the decision to keep Lee Cattermole at the club was the best of his managerial reign, Sunderland Echo reports.
The 26-year-old was believed to be on his way away from the Black Cats over the summer, with Stoke City interested in securing his services.
However, Poyet has now admitted that he is glad to have kept the talented midfielder at the Wearside outfit.
"In transfer windows, it's the best decision I have made. I've got no doubt about that." He said. "I'm sure, with all respect to Stoke and to Catts, he's happier here. His reaction to the decision was spectacular."
Cattermole joined the Black Cats from Wigan Athletic in the summer of 2009.
