Liverpool favourites to sign Papadopoulos

Liverpool are reckoned as front-runners to sign Schalke 04 defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos this summer, according to Metro.

The Greek international, who is currently plying his trade at Bayer Leverkusen on loan, is said to have been on the radar of the Reds for the past two seasons.

A report from Metro claims that the Merseyside giants have been given the green signal to discuss a deal for the 23-year-old defender in the summer.

In addition to this, the Reds could face stiff competition from Bayer Leverkusen, who are keen on signing up Papadopoulos on a permanent contract.

Papadopoulos is currently valued at around £4.5m
