Newcastle United snub Pato

Newcastle United are not in the running to sign Corinthians forward Alexandre Pato, according to reports.

The Brazil international has been recently linked with a move to Europe following an impressive loan spell at Sao Paolo.

Pato is said to have been offered to several Premier League clubs, and according to the Newcastle Evening Chronicle, the Magpies have turned down the chance to sign the former AC Milan star.

Steve McClaren's side are also known to have lodged an formal bid for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.

Newcastle United are currently 17th in the Premier League, two points above the dreaded drop zone.
