Newcastle United ready Lacazette bid

Newcastle United have reportedly made a club-record offer for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.

The Magpies are eager to land a new striker this month as they seek to beat the drop at the end of the Premier League season.

Lacazette has recently suggested that he would consider a summer exit from the Ligue 1 side, but the Magpies are known to have lodged a £25m bid to land the player's services during the current transfer window.

Premier League giants Manchester United and Arsenal are also said to be interested in the France international.

Steve McClaren's are currently above the Premier League drop zone following a 2-1 over West Ham United on Saturday.
