Steve Bruce eyeing Abel Hernandez reunion
Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce is prepared to bring former player Abel Hernandez to Villa Park in the January transfer window. The Uruguay international has had a good relationship with Bruce, who signed him for Hull City in 2014.
According to Calciomercato, Bruce is plotting a raid on his former side with Hernandez being one among his top targets for the New Year.
The 27-year-old has struggled to make much of an impression in the Premier League this term, but Bruce would still be willing to cough up a £10m sum for his services.
On the other hand, Mike Phelan would also welcome the prospect of offloading the marksman with his side in need of sufficient funds to bolster their fragile defence this winter.
Hernandez has netted 27 goals for Hull City in all competitions since his switch from Palermo two years ago.
