Bruno Martins Indi is open to the option of earning a permanent move to Stoke City at the end of the season. The Holland international is currently on a season-long loan from Porto.

The Dutchman joined the Potters from the Primeira outfit at the start of the campaign after he found himself surplus to requirements at Estadio do Dragao.

The 25-year-old has since been ever-present at the Bet365 Stadium, and this has led to the manager Mark Hughes admitting that he could prolong the defender's stay beyond the summer.

Martins India has now revealed that he would like to remain with the Potters for the long-term, but a deal depends on how negotiations flow with his parent club.

"We are almost there. The club wants me to stay, I want to stay, the coach wants me as well to stay and so we are going to see what happens now," he told Stoke Sentinel.

"And the fans want me to stay, which is important. I feel I have a good connection with the supporters and it's good to give something back."

Martins Indi had played a key role in the Netherlands' route to semi-final of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, and he will hoping to have a similar impact in 2018 through his displays at Stoke City.
