Nasri slams Leicester City star

Nasri was dismissed against Leicester on Tuesday

On loan Sevilla midfielder Samir Nasri has branded Jamie Vardy a cheat, after a coming together of the two saw the French international dismissed for his second bookable offence during the Champions League final sixteen tie on Tuesday.

Leicester City progressed to the quarter finals of the Champions League after their 2-0 victory at the King Power Stadium gave them a 3-2 aggregate win. Sevilla had to play the final part of the match with ten men after Nasri, on loan from Manchester City, was show his second yellow card.

Nasri can't argue with the first yellow card, which he was shown in the first half, after a silly challenge inside Leicester's half. The second incident is the one that left Nasri fuming and having to be ushered off the pitch.

Whilst waiting for a throw in to be taken, Nasri and Jamie Vardy were involved in a tussle for position, much like you will see many times in any game. This however lead to the two players standing face to face and seemingly touching heads. Vardy reacted to this as if Nasri had aimed a headbutt, drawing attention to the incident from the officials. Both players were booked, meaning that Nasri's game was over.

Speaking since the game, Samir Nasri has said that "for me, he is a cheat." Clearly still angered by the incident, the former Arsenal man suggested that "if he was a foreign player, the English press would say he is a cheat."

Vardy won't mind these allegations too much, as he and the rest of the Leicester City team await Friday's draw to see where their European adventure will take them next.
